what the evidence says
Magnesium's evidence is honest but layered: deficiency is genuinely common and correcting it helps sleep, mood and muscle function, while trials in replete adults show much smaller effects. For sleep specifically, small trials suggest modestly faster sleep onset, mostly in older or deficient adults. Chelated bisglycinate absorbs well and is the gentlest common form on the gut, which is a tolerability advantage rather than an evidence one.
reviews
Thousands of reviews skew positive: better sleep, less restlessness, no laxative effect. Many switched from oxide on a pharmacist's advice. The split dose annoys some, four capsules for the full amount, and a vocal minority find the marketing louder than the difference they felt.
