Magnesium Bisglycinate

The score explained
evidence, testing and value, weighed before price
Why 8.8 of 10: Athlete-grade chelated magnesium, NSF Certified for Sport. The quality benchmark, at a premium.
- Fully chelated bisglycinate, gentle and well absorbed
- NSF Certified for Sport, independently tested
- Clean, no fillers
- Most expensive option on the shelf
- Powder only, not capsules
what the evidence says
Magnesium's evidence is honest but layered: deficiency is genuinely common and correcting it helps sleep, mood and muscle function, while trials in replete adults show much smaller effects. For sleep specifically, small trials suggest modestly faster sleep onset, mostly in older or deficient adults. Chelated bisglycinate absorbs well and is the gentlest common form on the gut, which is a tolerability advantage rather than an evidence one.
reviews
Reviewers consistently report deeper sleep and fewer night wakings within a week or two, with none of the stomach upset they had from citrate or oxide. The powder dissolves fast and the light monk-fruit taste splits opinion. The recurring complaint is price, most call it worth it, some rebuy something cheaper.
